How much can I get for my scrap metal

To name just three variables, how much scrap metal is worth depends on the type of metal, the market, and the condition of the metal. While we cannot advertise our pay-out fees on our website, we can guarantee that you’ll get the best price possible. And you’ll be paid promptly.

Types of metal

Copper is one of the most valuable metals, followed by brass, aluminium, stainless steel and lead. These and other types of metal can be found in and around your house (e.g., gutters, water pipes, steel beams, electronic appliances, ladders, chairs and coat hangers) and on your car for example (wheels, body, batteries, cables and wires, etc). Whilst it is perfectly fine to take your own belongings to a metal merchant, it is obviously not okay to collect other people’s scrap metal to cash in.

All of these metals are sold per tonne, and their prices can fluctuate on a daily basis.

Market value

As with everything, supply and demand affect scrap metal prices. If you’re renovating a house or similar and you have lots of metal to scrap, you might want to keep an eye on the international market and sell when prices are at a high, so you get the best price possible. But chances are you want to get rid of your scrap, so you can progress with your project.

We are a scrap metal dealer now in our fourth generation, and our customers know and appreciate that we give them extremely competitive rates for their unwanted metals. Speak to us and you’ll see for yourself.

Condition of the metal

The cleaner and purer a metal, the higher the value. In other words, you’ll get the best price if it is free from any corrosion and contamination. For example, all other material that may have been attached to it should be removed and all liquids drained from it.

To properly prepare your metal to obtain the best rate, you might require specialist equipment, potentially some specialist knowledge – and it might turn out to be time-consuming.

We can take the hassle away from you. Bring us your scrap metal or call us to collect it from you, and we’ll sort it all out.
